She passed into the loving arms of her Savior on August 27, 2008. Her parents, Frederick and Elma (Overbaugh) Denison were Canadians who had met and married in Florida. They moved back north after a catastrophic hurricane had destroyed their home in Palm Beach in 1928. Her father found work on the Wurzel farm near Port Huron, Michigan. He died a couple of years later as a result of a farm accident. Her mother then married Milton Kettlewell, a widower from Croswell where Jeane enjoyed a wonderful childhood among a large extended family. She graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1947 and married Omar Fenton. They had 4 children in addition to his son from a previous marriage. She was the proprietor of Flowers by Jeane in Croswell from 1955 to 1961 when she and Omar divorced. She and the children moved to Port Huron where she worked at Sperry’s Department Store. She married Arnold King in 1962. Arnold’s work took the family to Saginaw in 1967 where Jeane found her love of helping people fulfilled in real estate sales. She and Arnold next moved to Florida in 1975 where she was the broker proprietor of King Realty World in Delray Beach. In 2000 they both retired to Pocomoke City, Maryland to be near Arnold’s son Ralph. Jeane continued to help people find their dreams working part-time in real estate. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and a regular at the women’s Bible study. She is survived by Arnold King her husband of 46 years, brothers Fred Denison of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Bill Kettlewell of Traverse City, Michigan, her sister Gale (Kettlewell) Lindke of Maumee, Ohio, , her step-sister Dorothy (Kettlewell) Spencer of Peck, Michigan, her children Eric Fenton of San Antonio, Texas, Frank Fenton of Delray Beach, Florida, John Fenton of Grass Lake, Michigan and Laura (Fenton) Kohldorfer of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, her step-sons, Larry Fenton of Lexington, Michigan, Ralph King of Pocomoke City, Maryland, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. |
